After Microsoft unveiled the first details about The Division 2, Ubisoft’s own press conference at E3 2018 gave a little more detail about the content that players will receive.
The Division 2: Includes full access to new missions, maps and game modes
Everyone who plays The Division 2 will have full access to new story mode missions, map expansions and year-round game modes for free. People who want even more can buy the pass for 1 year to get exclusive accessories.
For the first time, the raids will reach The Division 2 and up to 8 players can play.
The content of the endgame also has its focus with Ubisoft promising that the game was built with a mindset of “finish first in the game” and “introducing new challenges and progression systems, unique twists and surprises” along with the raids.
It also comes after the completion of the main story a group of new specializations with their own unique systems of progression, skills, mods and talents. The three mentioned so far include demolitionist, sharpshooter and survivalist.
Dark Zone fans will be happy to know you’re coming back for the sequel and it looks like at least part of that is as usual. It’s still where you’ll find the best spoils and spontaneous action from PvP, but Ubisoft says the overall experience has been improved so that all players can have a good time, regardless of their level.
The world of Division 2 also seems to have been renewed. In addition to being quite large on a 1:1 scale, it is now dynamic, with civilians and enemies struggling to survive, controlling resources and territory. This time there is no snow, Division 2 takes place in “one of the hottest summers in history”.
Different needs will trigger different encounters, with you trapped in the middle. You can also work with the civilians you are trying to save, and they will offer you supplies and helpers to build your base of operations.
The Division 2 will be released on Xbox, PS4 and PC on March 15, 2019.
