Nvidia has confirmed that the PC version of Death Stranding will support DLSS 2.0, the AI-based technology that can deliver 4K-like images with faster performance than the native images.
Death stranding demonstrates its power with DLSS 2.0 and is incredibly
In Nvidia’s Guide for Death Stranding Analysts, the company published a selection of benchmarks for gaming with its RTX and RTX Super Series products. These data confirmed that any RTX graphics card is capable of running Death Stranding at 4K 60+ FPS on PCs when DLSS is used. This fact makes DLSS a real differentiator for Nvidia graphics cards.
HardwareLuxx has published the Nvidia guide on Twitter, and we have confirmed the validity of these slides internally. Analysts of the PC version of Death Stranding are currently not allowed to publish detailed performance data, so Nvidia slides are the only data that is available. Furthermore, we are not sure whether the content of the latest Nvidia documentation may be released on DLSS. Fortunately for us, the content of these slides has already been published by a third party.
At 1080p, we can see that DLSS 2.0 can have a big impact on Death Stranding performance, but not as much as what we see at higher resolutions. Not bad considering the proven quality of DLSS 2.0 in games like Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries and Control.
If the resolutions are increased to 1440p, DLSS 2.0 is sufficient to easily reach over 100 FPS on RTX series graphics cards. This is great news, much better than playing at 30 FPS on the PlayStation 4 version.
At 4K, DLSS 2.0 in quality mode is capable of running the entire Nvidia RTX series Death Stranding at an average of more than 60 FPS. These figures should increase in performance mode.
