Today, Intel introduced 6-core processors for Coffee Lake-H laptops, which are expected to start appearing on more powerful notebooks shortly. These also include a high-performance Intel Core i9-8950HK chip that has 12MB of cache and can extend the clock speed up to 4.8GHz.
Core i9-8950HK With its 6-core Coffee Lake-H CPU designed for laptops
For some time now, Intel has been working on 6-core laptop processors. This has occasionally appeared in leaks. Now we have finally seen the official launch of the Coffee Lake-H line. It is the first CPU for laptops that can handle up to 12 threads at the same time.
The most exciting new Intel processor for laptops is Core i9-8950HK. That is a high-end notebook CPU that makes no compromises. It is composed of 6 cores clocked at 2.9 GHz. The frequency can be increased to as much as 4.8 GHz if required! According to Intel, an average of 29% better performance can be achieved compared to the previous generation’s most influential processor. With 4K UHD video editing, performance gains are already 59% and 41% for games.
And the Intel Core i9-8950HK isn’t the only new Coffee Lake-H line processor. There were also other processors presented by the manufacturer. You will find a list of them below.
- Xeon E-2186M – 6 cores / 12 threads, 2.9 GHz (up to 4.8 GHz in increased power mode), 12 MB cache
- Xeon E-2176M – 6 cores / 12 threads, 2.7 GHz (up to 4.4 GHz in expanded power mode), 12 MB cache
- Core i7-8850H – 6 cores / 12 threads, 2.6 GHz (up to 4.3 GHz in increased power mode), 9 MB cache
- Core i7-8750H – 6 cores / 12 threads, 2.2 GHz (up to 4.2 GHz in expanded power mode), 9 MB cache
- Core i5-8400H – 4 cores / 8 threads, 2.5 GHz (4.2 GHz in increased power mode), 8 MB cache
- Core i5-8300H – 4 cores / 8 threads, 2.3 GHz (4.0 GHz in expanded power mode), 8 MB cache
We will still wait a bit for laptops with new Intel processors. Do not forget, that you will find an extensive selection of notebooks in stores right now. Also the special ones for players.
