CaseLabs announces the SMA8-X ‘Extreme Edition’ chassis

Corsair is not the only company that announces the launch of an extensive chassis. CaseLabs, based in the United States, is also preparing the “X” revision for its Magnum SMA8 chassis. The “X” means “Extreme Edition,” and the new SMA8-X Extreme Edition chassis has a size closer to the flagship SMA10 than the current SMA8 Rev A.

SMA8-X Extreme Edition has characteristics similar to SMA8-A

The SMA8-X Extreme Edition measures 286m x 675mm x 851mm with characteristics similar to the SMA8-A, except for the two cooling chambers. This additional space allows folding side mounts in both houses. That means an area for up to three radiators.

In addition to the extra space, the SMA8-X updates several optional features of the SMA8-A. CaseLabs says it will offer three options for the front, including the fully ventilated variant seen in the photo of the previous prototype. The other options include the standard, adequately ventilated and a new front window panel. The SMA8-X review will also have tempered glass side panels, as well as front USB 3.1 options.

The SMA8 series supports E-ATX motherboards, with an option for SSI EEB in standard or reverse position.

When do the SMA8-X chassis go on sale?

CaseLabs has not yet revealed any pricing information since the information provided remains for the prototype. The expected availability is not until the end of March. Most likely, the prices are between SMA8-A ($ 599) and STH10 ($ 739).
