Black Mesa full version is available for download, but in beta!

For all Half-Life fans, it’s finally over. It is not announced yet. But Crowbar Collective has released the full version of Black Mesa, first in the beta version.

This means that PC players can relive the full Half-Life experience in Black Mesa. Black Mesa Complete Beta offers all levels of the first Half-Life games, including the oldest and newest levels for Xen.

As reported in an earlier article, Black Mesa was a bit more challenging than we expected. Crowbar Collective was aware of these performance issues and has been working on it ever since. According to the team, the latest beta version of Black Mesa improves performance throughout the game and targets specific areas to increase frame rates on all PCs.

As we go into detail, the latest beta version of Black Mesa also changes the focus to launch grenades. It also brings tons of small changes and corrections to the Gonarch Guarida chapter, a number of bug fixes and more.

To get access to the beta version of Black Mesa, you need to follow these instructions:

  • Select “Black Mesa” in your Steam library.
  • Click with the right mouse button and go to the properties.
  • Select the “BETAS” tab in the upper right corner.
