The original Apple digital pen is a great accessory for iPad Pro users, especially for graphic designers and artists. It offers both pressure sensitivity and angle detection, making it easy to vary line thickness, create subtle shadows and produce a wide range of artistic effects.
But there are a considerable number of iPad owners who don’t support the Apple stylus, and many of those users would be happy to add a new utility to their iPad. We have compiled some alternatives to the Apple Pencil that work with a wide range of iPads and even the iPhone; these are our suggestions:
1.- Adonit Pixel
If you’re looking for an Apple Pencil-like experience, Adonit Pixel is an excellent choice. This is a thin-tipped stylus; it supports 2048 levels of palm pressure sensitivity and rejection; it features programmable shortcut buttons and balances very well in the hand. It incorporates two programmable shortcut buttons that provide quick access to functions such as delete and redo. This is something you definitely can’t find on the Apple Pencil.
You can use the stylus with a wide variety of applications, including Goodnotes, Procreate, AstroPad, and more; the stylus is compatible with iPhone 5 and later, along with the iPad, iPad mini, and iPad Air.
2.- FiftyThree Pencil
This alternative is an unconventional pencil design; the exterior is made of real wood and its flat body with a digital eraser built into the opposite end of the stylus tip gives it a unique look.
Despite its wider rubber tip, you can still draw fine lines thanks to the excellent pressure-sensitive function. The accessory is compatible with an iPhone 4s or later, a third-generation iPad or later, iPad mini, iPad Air or iPad Pro. Its battery lasts approximately one month in normal use and is fully recharged in less than 90 minutes.
There’s no need to worry about the pairing because when you press the tip on the device’s screen, the stylus will automatically connect via Bluetooth.
3.- Wacom Bamboo Duo
Bamboo Stylus duo is a dual-purpose stylus for iPad and Android tablets, combining a soft, responsive tablet pen tip on one end with a premium ink pen pen pen on the other end. This allows you to switch between working in a tablet and working on paper by simply flipping the pen.
The pen cap can be conveniently attached to each end of the pen to protect the unused tip. The writing tip uses standard ink refills and offers a writing feel similar to regular pens.
4.- Moko Active Stylus Pen
This is a low-cost alternative that offers excellent style for both writing and drawing. One end of the stylus has a 1.5mm thin metal dot that gives you a realistic feel when writing on the screen of most iPad models and newer iPhones.
That requires the use of the built-in battery that can be charged in about an hour and provides up to eight hours of continuous use; it will automatically shut down after 30 minutes of inactivity to save power.
