From time to time, various manufacturers of electronic devices surprise us with products that are unconventional for attracting attention and offering something different than we are used to from users.
Asus is one of these manufacturers, especially since the company presented its ZenBook Pro Duo laptops at the end of May, characterized by two touchscreens, its main screen, an OLED screen 15″ with an aspect ratio of 16:9, and its secondary screen, christened ScreenPad Plus, 14″, with IPS technology, an aspect ratio of 32:9 and also a resolution of 4K, located on the same large keyboard.
Well, today at Computex 2019, the company announced that it will launch its two versions of ZenBook Pro Duo notebooks onto the US market next September 6th, starting today to pre-order them through a number of retailers.
ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo laptops will be available in two different configurations, starting with the simplest, for $2,499, with an Intel Core i7-9750H processor and 16GB of RAM.
The advanced configuration integrates an Intel Core i9-9980HK processor and 32GB of RAM and will cost about $2,999. Together they have an OLED 4K main display, Nvidia RTX 2060 graphics, NVMe SSD memory with a capacity of 1 TB, as well as Thunderbolt 3 port and the integration of Windows 10 Pro as the operating system.
ZenBook Pro Duo Competes with Apple’s MacBook
This is where comparisons can be made with MacBook laptops, as they are among the first to integrate secondary screens alongside keyboards, but ASUS laptops are more functional with secondary screens because they can act as true independent monitors, so that the user can perform a task on the main screen while watching a video on the secondary screen.
Note that ScreenPad Plus screens have their own controls so that users can use them as an extension of the main screens, becoming secondary screens where independent tasks can be performed, or even split into two smaller screens with a 16:9 aspect ratio.

With the purchase, ASUS will offer a pen, although the user can operate the touch screen with the desired pen. Of course, these are not models intended for the most common users, as these models are aimed at professional users such as photographers, illustrators or other professions where a second screen is attached.
It is important that the battery plays a crucial role in ensuring sufficient autonomy. All that remains is to know the possibilities of the first users to buy the devices.
