ASUS support EPYC Milan-X CPUs in its servers

ASUS shares with us the information that its servers are already taking advantage of the new EPYC third-generation processor architecture with 3D V-Cache technology.

ASUS welcomes EPYC ‘Genoa’ processors to its servers

ASUS servers can now take advantage of the performance of AMD EPYC Milan-X processors with 3D V-Cache technology, which should exponentially boost performance over second-generation EPYC CPUs.

Currently, ASUS offers dual-socket (RS720A and RS700A) and single-socket (RS520A and RS500A) servers for the 3rd generation AMD EPYC processor lineup. These are being offered with 240W and 280W TDP, plus core configurations from 16 cores up to 64 cores.

The EPYC 3rd generation platform is perfect for AI, deep learning, and HPC-based workloads. The ESC8000A and ESC4000A GPU servers also support the new EPYCs.

The new EPYC processors can support 4 to 8 dual-slot Instinct graphics cards, Xilinx FPGA accelerator cards, and Nvidia GPUs.

All ASUS products for this segment are compatible with the new EPYC processors via a BIOS update, which enables all Genoa features and its 768MB cache.

With the EPYC 7003, AMD is tripling the amount of cache memory. The 3D V-Cache technology is not only being implemented for the EPYC series, but it also debuted in the Ryzen series with the Ryzen 7 5800X3D.
