With the ROG Strix B550-XE Gaming, Asus proposes a new version of the motherboard for Ryzen processors for the mid-range. This motherboard seems to be largely based on the ROG Strix B550-E Gaming.
ASUS ROG STRIX B550-XE, player-focused WiFi Motherboard
The ASUS ROG STRIX B550-XE Gaming WiFi has a 14+2 phase power design and is powered via an 8+4 pin connector configuration. The board does not use 90A power amplifiers like the Crosshair model but should be about 50-60A per power amplifier for this mainboard. The VRMs come with huge aluminum heat sinks, which are connected by a heat pipe solution. There are again four DDR4 DIMM slots.
Features of the motherboard:
- AM4 socket support
- PCIe 4.0 connectivity, six M.2 slots (four on ASUS Hyper M.2 x16 Gen 4 card included), USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C plus HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.2 output
- 14+2 power levels with ProCool power connection
- Actively cooled VRM heatsinks with an L-shaped cooling tube and integrated aluminum I/O cover and dedicated M.2 heatsinks.
- WiFi 6 (802.11ax) and Intel 2.5 Gb Ethernet with ASUS LANGuard
- The UEFI BIOS, the ASUS AI network, the FlashBack BIOS, Q-Code and FlexKey
- ASUS exclusive Aura Sync RGB lighting, including Aura RGB heads and addressable RGB Gen 2 heads
- USB Type C audio, AI noise-canceling microphone, SupremeFX S1220A codec, DTS Sound Unbound, and Sonic Studio III for immersive audio recording
