Gaming smartphones are fashionable in the industry right now. Razer was the first to introduce a gaming smartphone and Xiaomi and ZTE soon followed by Black Shark and Nubia Red Magic, respectively. Now, it looks like ASUS is planning a gaming smartphone under its Republic of Gamers or ROG gaming brand.
ASUS ROG Gaming Smartphone would be announced at Computex
According to’insider information’, ASUS plans to present a gaming-focused smartphone at this year’s Computex show in Taiwan from June 5-9. The inside source didn’t reveal the specifications, but it’s not that hard to guess.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 is likely to be the most powerful chip used, after all, for the mobile market at the moment. For trouble-free operation, the device will most likely have 8GB of RAM and a display that offers a very good refresh rate, between 120Hz and 144Hz. Whether ASUS uses an LCD or OLED display is a mystery.
The price will reflect the features and specifications but is likely to be at the same level as its competitors, such as Xiaomi’s Black Shark and ZTE’s Nubia Red Magic.
It’s also very possible that ASUS is opting for some kind of unusual cooling for this phone, and ASUS already has experience with this with its other products, especially ROG laptops.
