ASRock adds new GPU Phantom Gaming 550 to its catalog

ASRock has quietly added a new member to its Phantom Gaming family. The Phantom Gaming 550 2G graphics card, an entry-level model for consumers who don’t want to limit themselves to integrated graphics.

The Phantom Gaming 550 2G has a dual-slot design and measures 169.58 x 130.89 x 42.05 mm. It uses a black cover with the characteristic colors of Phantom Gaming. A single, double ball-bearing fan provides cooling.

Like any other Radeon RX 550, ASRock’s offering is based on TSMC’s 14nm process and uses Lexa Pro silicon. The graphics card is equipped with 512 SP and 2 GB of GDDR5 memory connected via a 64-bit 1,750 MHz (7,000 MHz effective) memory interface.

The Phantom Gaming Radeon 550 2G has three operating modes that can be switched via the Phantom Gaming Tweak software from ASRock. The silent mode limits the clock to a maximum of 1.136 MHz and reduces the memory to 6.972 MHz. The standard mode executes the graphics card according to the AMD reference specifications, which are 1.183 MHz in turbo mode and 7.000 MHz in memory. Finally, the OC mode overclocks the graphics card’s turbo clock at 1.230 MHz and the memory at 7.038 MHz.

The graphics card has a TDP of 50W and therefore does not need a PCIe power connection. A power supply of at least 350W is recommended. Regarding the display outputs, ASRock has equipped the Phantom Gaming 550 2G with a dual-link DVI-D port, an HDMI 2.0b port, and a DisplayPort 1.4 output.

ASRock has not disclosed the price or availability of the graphics card.
