Razer has announced that its Razer Phone will be upgraded to Android 8.1 Oreo and that the official update will be available sometime in April. If you don’t want to wait, you can install the previous version now.
Android 8.1 Oreo preview for the Razer Phone now available
One of the problems with the Android platform is that many of the available devices are not updated as often as we would like them to be. In recent years, companies have striven to differentiate themselves by offering more frequent updates.
Currently, the Razer Phone works with Android 7.1 Nougat, those users who want to try the update can download the previous version of the developer now. Despite its name, the preview of the update is open to anyone but requires some work to install. Before you start, make sure you back up everything in case something goes wrong, so you don’t lose all your valuable data. Also note that when the official Oreo 8.1 update arrives, you will not receive it through an automatic update if it is in this previous compilation.
If you agree with all of the above, you can consult Razer’s detailed flashing instructions and start downloading the previous operating system image. From professional review we are not responsible for any damage your Razer Phone may suffer during the process.
