The annual Game Developers Conference, or GDC, will be held in San Francisco from March 18-22, 2019, where AMD will preview the new third-generation Zen 2 processor architecture, AMD 3000, codenamed AMD Matisse and featuring the new X570 chipset.
The Ryzen chipset was a success for AMD, from Ryzen 3 to the Ryzen Threadripper, covering all possible user segments, from mid-range to gaming and workstation, AMD has managed to overtake Intel in several aspects that haven’t happened for a long time, from Athlon and AMD FX against the Pentium 4 of time.
There is much interest and expectation in the new Zen 2 architecture, following the success of processors such as the Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX, the first CPU with 32 cores / 64 threads worldwide, a beast that kept the best Xeon of the moment in check, unrivalled in its use as rendering, So much so that Intel launched the Xeon W-3175X, a CPU with 28 cores and 56 threads that outperform in many applications but costs twice as much, but still puts AMD first in tasks like image rendering.
Ken Mitchell, an engineer from AMD’s Radeon Gaming series, will present the AMD Ryzen Processor Software Optimization event after Lisa Su showed progress on the new Zen 2 architecture in CES 2019.
AMD promises some revelations about the new architecture, and the information is not expected to be overly expanded, we will soon learn more details about this exciting architecture.
