For AMD, the battle didn’t end with Ryzen 3000, and today we’re talking to you about the latest leaks on Ryzen Threadripper 3rd Generation as the Web Gamers Nexus has received valuable information.
Some specifications of Ryzen Threadripper 3rd Generation can be found here
As you know, the Ryzen Threadripper processors are more oriented towards the “Enthusiastic Range” teams, also known as High-End Desktop (HEDT). In general, they have higher core counters, more cache, and better multicore performance. However, after the new data we have, it seems that this will change slightly.
Evidence suggests that AMD will be releasing some new sockets for the Ryzen Threadripper 3rd Generation and each one will be geared to a profile type. Thus, sTRX4 will be an improved version of TR4, while sWRX8 will be a cheap version of AMD EPYC.
On the other hand, it has been rumored that there is a third socket called sTRX8, but there is no trace of it under the leaks.
In this table, we see all the filtered data we have, although we still have some white gaps, like the number of cores and threads or the amount of L3 cache.
As for the relevant data, we can see that sWRX8 supports 96-128 PCIe Gen 4 channels and that we cannot overclock them. In terms of RAM, you can use up to 8 modules at the same time that is compatible with UDIMM, RDIMM, and LRDIMM memories.
With these bets, it seems AMD is raising the bar again and could attract new companies to its renewed platforms. As a result, Intel could be forced to fight more aggressively, as we saw in the last news.
