It looks like the Ryzen 9 4900U is ready to enter the low power range for Ryzen laptops. Inside, we’ll tell you everything.
The Ryzen 4000 series has not yet been fully introduced to the market, as we see a new Ryzen 9 4900U as a top processor in the low power line. This is a chip that can be very interesting for professionals who need 8 cores and 16 threads on their laptops. The capture we are showing you did not take long to cause a stir on the net.
Ryzen 9 4900U: 4.3 Ghz for professionals
We have accessed this small specification chart courtesy of the user @APISAK, who is known for his leaks on Twitter. It shows a Ryzen 9 4900U with 8 cores, 16 threads, and a base and turbo frequency of 1.8 GHz and 4.3 GHz respectively. Unfortunately, we don’t see the TDP, so we are starting to get a little suspicious.
We could compensate for the fact that this Ryzen 9 is only 100 MHz away from the Ryzen 7 4800U. That would be half the distance because the Ryzen 9 4900HS offers a maximum of 4.4 GHz. The designation “AMD Majolica-RN” refers to the top-of-the-line APU in the ultra-low-power range. Therefore, it is expected that this Ryzen 9 will surpass the Intel Tiger Lake.
On the other hand, rumors about its integrated graphics continue to circulate on the 8 CUs in an attempt to beat the Intel DG1 and Iris Plus iGPU. As for the TDP, we don’t expect it to exceed 50W, but we’ll have to follow the news closely.
