AMD Ryzen 4000: Adding support for the LPDDR4X-4266 increases performance

As the days go by, we realize how AMD has prepared for the introduction of its portable Ryzen 4000 chips. When everyone was looking at frequencies, TPDs, threads, cores and temperatures, AMD quietly introduced the LPDDR4X. Not only is 3DMark back in the news, but the Twitter @_rogame user has also filtered out some 3DMark tests on two Ryzen 5 4500U: one with LPDDR4-3200 and one with LPDDR4X-4266, so we’re seeing a performance boost that won’t go unnoticed.

As you can see, this results in an overall performance difference of 16.9%, with the notebook with LPDDR4X memory winning. This frequency has a relevant impact in all aspects, as it is superior in CPU scoring as well as in graphics and processor tests.

The biggest difference is the processor score, which is 18.9% higher. Not only that, but we are also told from China that this performance surpassed the Ryzen 7 3700U and Intel i7-1065G7 of previous generations. This is not bad for higher-quality chips.

So it is not silly to say that the support of this LPDDR4X RAM can give the “push” that the Ryzens need to face Intel laptops without shame.
