Solid evidence sources from the Wccftech, AMD is preparing AM4 “Matisse Refresh” as Ryzen 9 3900XT, Ryzen 7 3800XT, and Ryzen 5 3600XT.
AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT, Ryzen 7 3800XT and Ryzen 5 3600XT may be announced in June
The new processors will adopt an optimized 7nm process node first introduced in Matisse CPUs in 2019, allowing AMD to offer higher clock speeds on the new models.
In the ‘Matisse Refresh’ family, the core configuration remains the same. The Ryzen 9 3900XT will have 12 cores and 24 threads, the Ryzen 7 3800XT will have 8 cores and 16 threads, while the Ryzen 5 3600XT will have 6 cores and 12 threads. Interestingly, all three CPUs will have higher clock speeds and improved overclocking support. The clock rate improvements are not specified, but it is assumed that they will bring a 5-10% performance increase over the models of the same name.
The three Ryzen 3000 “Matisse Refresh” desktop CPUs will be compatible with the 400 and 500 series motherboards. These new CPUs will compete with Intel’s Core i9-10900K, Core i7-10700K, and Core i5-10600K options.
AMD believes that there is still room for improvement and a small advantage over Intel with Matisse Refresh, so this is their card for success, until the introduction of the Ryzen 4000 series later this year.
The AMD Ryzen 3000 “Matisse Refresh” processor family of CPUs is expected to be announced on June 16 with an official launch/sales embargo on July 7. We will keep you informed.
