As AMD’s third-generation Ryzen processors were introduced, the upgrade process for PC gamers seemed far from perfect. This is what happens to Destiny 2 players who are currently unable to start the game if a third-generation Ryzen Zen 2 processor is installed.
In response to some of the problems faced by Ryzen 3000 users, Robert Hallock of AMD has released an update describing what is being done to support Ryzen users. This update contains issues with Destiny 2.
In his article, Hallock confirms that AMD has an update of the beta chipset driver that provides a solution to the third generation Ryzen problems with Destiny 2 and a link to an official download of the driver for external testing. This driver contains a solution that allows Destiny 2 to run on the affected systems, although it is not an official version of the driver.
Destiny 2 players have trouble starting the game with the new Ryzen CPUs
As for Destiny 2, this is something we picked up after takeoff. Simply put, I’m so sorry. It’s not a title included in our standard test package because it’s difficult to compare reliably. When we found out, we sent a proactive statement to our world press with about 700 members, which led to such coverage. We also worked with Bungie’s support staff to solve the problem and communicate with their customer service team so users know what was going on. A link to Robert Hallock’s beta chipset driver is available as a Google Drive download in the following section.
