AMD publicly announced this remarkable achievement in person during the first quarter annual report meeting. The “red team” is attacking the “blue team” harder than ever.
AMD CEO Lisa Su is very satisfied with the result. Intel chips have been removed from the rankings of major global retailers since the introduction of Ryzen 3rd generation. Currently, according to the statistics of sales units around the world, AMD CPUs account for about 50% of the total sales of high-end computer processors.

With impressive performance and affordable prices, users rushed to buy AMD CPUs instead of Intel CPU kits. For just $400 you get Ryzen 9 3900X with 12 cores and 24 threads, $290 for Ryzen 7 3700X with 8 cores and 16 threads. These are the best-selling high-end CPUs on Amazon’s platform. In the top 10, 7 positions belong to AMD CPUs, and Intel even has kicked out of the top 5.
AMD Vs. Intel, who is the new master?
AMD also knows this possibility very well when it tries to lower the prices. The Ryzen 5 2600X and Ryzen 7 2700X products have just had a huge sales success, to 100 and 130 USD respectively. This is an incredible price for a 6-core 12-core and 8-core 16-core chip. A few years ago, users had to spend a lot more money to own this configuration.

According to the European Hardware Union, about 60% of technology people today prefer AMD CPUs over Intel. Mind factory, the largest retailer of technology devices in Germany, has also presented figures that confirm this report. They have sold more than 50,000 units of the Ryzen 5 3600 CPU since its introduction. AMD processors are now the standard assembly machine for Intel core chips.
AMD Stock likely to increase value on the arrival of Ryzen 4000 Desktop
Another company also released figures for March, AMD accounted for 88% of sales and 84% of PC CPU sales. At the end of April 2020, AMD covered 89% of sales and 85% of profits, leaving the sparse remainder for Intel. With the upcoming impressive product roadmap, Ryzen 4000, AMD’s market share is likely to increase further.
