The Radeon Software Adrenalin 21.12.1 driver also includes support for Icarus, Blender 3.0 on RX 6000 GPUs and there is also support for the upcoming Fortnite update.

The game that will benefit the most from the new drivers is Halo Infinite. The game already has a multiplayer mode on the road, but the campaign mode, which is separate from the online multiplayer, will be released on December 8. The new Adrenaline controllers will bring performance benefits in both multiplayer and campaign modes.

AMD’s own tests show a 17% performance increase with the RX 6900 XT, 19% with the RX 6800 XT, and 16% with the RX 6700 XT.

The tests were performed with a Ryzen 9 5900X CPU in combination with 16 GB of RAM and Windows 10. The game was run in 4K with the Ultra setting.

These are the issues fixed in this version:

  • When running SteamVR Home on some AMD graphics products, such as Radeon VII, some users may experience a crash.
  • When playing Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, some RX graphics cards, such as the RX 5500 XT, may experience issues.
  • When playing PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds with multiple screens connected in Advanced Mode, the Radeon software may stop responding when the user is in the lobby and tries to open the Radeon software on the second screen via the context menu.
  • When playing Forza Horizon 5 with some RX 500 series graphics cards, a visual distortion of a vehicle logo or license plate can be observed.
