The manufacturer presented another option, in addition to a ChromeBox aimed at the educational area. The latest Chromium update allows Chromebooks to install and run Android applications from the Play Store. Acer’s new Spin 11 is on that list.
What new Chromebook offers to its users?
It is a hybrid unit, notebook/tablet, convertible with flexible joints. So you can double it if you want to use it as a tablet and you do not need a keyboard. The device has a touch screen of 11.6 inches, two USB ports type C, two USB 3.0 ports and a microSD card reader.
Its other features and components are much more customizable. You can choose to equip it with an Intel Pentium quad-core N4200 processor. Also, it comes with an Intel Celeron quad-core N3450 processor or an Intel Celeron dual-core processor N3350.
You can also choose between 4 GB and 8 GB of RAM, as well as between 32 GB and 64 GB of integrated storage. But that comes at an additional cost. Also, you can even get one with optional Wacom pen or one with a camera, primarily on top of a traditional webcam.
Some of these Spin 11 models (you still do not know which ones). These will arrive in the United States in March, with prices starting at $ 349. This Chromebook will be available in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa next month.
Acer has also announced the Chromebook 11 C732 series and the Chromebox CXI3 for the educational area. Both come with compatibility with Google Play, like many Chromebooks for the classrooms.
On the other hand, the Chromebook 11 was designed to take hits. It has been subjected to fall tests, is dustproof and has a spill-resistant keyboard. Some models will have the 4G capacity, but unfortunately, Acer does not have configurations with LTE for the North American market.
These will get in the market in March. With prices starting at $ 300 for tactile models and $ 280 for non-tactile models.
