An engineering student from Germany, Philip Frenzel, invented a very interesting way to protect our smartphone. Its design will allow you to relax every time the phone accidentally falls out of your hands. Why? Frenzel has created almost perfect protection for your phone – a kind of airbag.
An airbag for your smartphone is actually a case. However, it is not just a piece of silicone or plastic. As soon as the system senses that our phone is falling, it pulls out the metal claws that protect the equipment from damage. This happens every time the phone rushes to meet the ground.
Frenzel, a student at the University of Aalen in Germany, has already won a prize from the German Mechatronics Association. The young man intends to commercialise his idea soon with the help of the Kickstarter collection service. He will work with Peter Mayer, another student at the same university.
It is a very interesting idea and if such a product ever reaches the market in even a similar form, it will surely save people stress and money. This is because you have probably had to deal with the issue of a broken screen many times. If we equip our telephone with this “air cushion”, such accidents are not going to take place anymore.
