Samsung has reduced its pricing policy for its new SSD 970 EVO and 970 Pro. In an increasingly fierce competition, the giant is playing the price card to make its offers more attractive.
970 EVO and 970 Pro, Samsung cuts its rates
Samsung surprises with the announcement of new rates for its SSD 970 EVO and 970 Pro. We are witnessing a general price drop against the first announcement of the manufacturer. The Flash storage segment is becoming increasingly competitive. If this affected prices we now have battled over reliability and performance.
In such a context, it is not surprising that the giant reacts to reinforce the positioning of its innovations. If this price reduction concerns the whole catalog, it has no impact on the rest since the guarantee is always for five years.
So the 970 EVO is announced at 109,99$ in 2560 Go, 199$ in 500 Go and 399$ in 1Tb against 799$ in its last version with a capacity of 1Tb. Compared to other offers like Intel likes 760P we are at very competitive prices. The processor giant is offering rates of 116.25, 215.45, 399.99 and 1730.01 dollars respectively. We have the same balance sheet against Western Digital’s WD Black with for example $499.99 for 1 TB.
Finally, the 970 PRO, the most potent SSD, will be available starting at $249.99 (500 GB) and $499.99 (1 TB). Competition is good for the portfolio.
