Zotac today announced the introduction of Zotac VR GO 2.0. The manufacturer promises a completely revised version of the first PC integrated into a backpack.
At one time it was impossible to enjoy virtual reality experiences without being overwhelmed by cables connected to a computer. Since the introduction of VR backpacks and autonomous headsets – the Oculus Quest, the Oculus Go or the HTC Vive Focus, this is now possible. And among the players who have specialized in backpacks for Virtual Reality, there are MSI, HP, and ZOTAC.
Zotac VR GO 2.0, new PC with focus on Virtual Reality
This Zotac VR GO 2.0 is a PC located in the middle of a Doc Bag. The machine has been redesigned to provide better weight distribution, longer waist support and foam reinforcements on the back of the bag and shoulder straps.
The latter has also released a second version of its device: the Zotac VR GO 2.0, which is more compact and ergonomic than the first model of the name. The teams of the Hong Kong-based company have developed a more powerful backpack that they believe can offer the ultimate immersive experience. This is reflected in the product specifications: a six-core Intel Core i7 processor with 2.4 GHz and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 graphics card.
The design has been redesigned to improve ergonomics. Zotac explains:
“The shape ensures a slight offset to the curvature of the back, optimal ventilation and better comfort of use.”
The Zotac VR GO 2.0 also includes 16GB of DDR4 memory, a 240GB SSD hard drive (expandable with SD/SDHC/SDXC cards), six USB 3.0 outputs, and a USB 3.1 Type C output. An indicator also allows you to know the state of the batteries before you start an experiment. The batteries, on the other hand, are not yet sufficient. Delivered with a backpack configuration, it comes with hot-swappable batteries and an external charging station. The backpack battery autonomy is indicated around an hour and 30 minutes and a charge indicator shows the battery status.
Finally, the appearance benefits from the RGB with the presence of addressable LEDs. Adaptation is done via the Spectra 2.0 application.
