YouTuber Mark Rober backs Apple with VR solution for autonomous vehicles

Mark Rober, who has almost 3.4 million subscribers to YouTube for his scientific experiments, appears as the inventor in an Apple patent. His contribution: A VR display system for entertaining passengers in self-propelled cars. Since 2015, Rober is said to have advised Apple engineers on the secret car project.

The direction in which the Apple Car project is developing is not clear. However, from time to time details come to light. For the sixth time, it is a fleet of self-propelled vehicles that Apple employees will have to commute between the company’s sites in Silicon Valley. At the same time, however, a VR headset can also be seen in the graphics of the patent specification. This could be a medium sensation because it confirms that Apple is working on a VR headset. The patent was filed in September 2017, granted and published in March. But only now can Variety connect to Apple.
