New functionalities have been tested by Google on YouTube for Android devices. Few users see a movie thumbnail in their notifications. Until now, the notifications from this application did not display such a detail. These are Google server-side tests, and very few people have seen them so far.
YouTube is testing a video thumbnail in notifications
YouTube sends news about new videos. These are currently on smartphones with Android, whose wide selection you will find in shops, are in the form of the title of the film, and the name of the channel from which the video comes, while on the right side there is a thumbnail of the creator. That may change soon.
On YouTube Google is currently testing changes that include new video notifications. You can see an example in the screenshot below. To the right of the screen appears a thumbnail with a preview of the frame from a specific video.
The new functionality is tested by Google in a closed session. In other words, the new feature is included on the company’s server-side and is most probably independent of the YouTube version installed. For the time being, it is not clear when this new feature will appear on the green robot equipment of all users of the application.
It is important to remember that Google runs a lot of similar tests with a small number of users. In many cases, however, the company withdraws from the changes and does not decide to implement them for everyone. As with YouTube’s refreshed notifications, we’ll see over time.
