YouTube shorts: Google bringing the dynamics of TikTok to its streaming service

It seems that YouTube has not resisted the temptation and is joining the series of services that imitate the dynamics of TikTok. This new feature would be called Shorts and would be integrated into both the iOS and Android apps.

What features “YouTube shorts” will offer?

There is currently not much information about this feature, nor is it known when it will be available to users, as mentioned in the information. But there are some details that have been leaked, for example, one bonus that YouTube would offer to users who try these short videos is that the audio library would make it easier for them to add sounds or music background.

The good thing about this strategy is that YouTube is not meant to launch as a standalone application, as Instagram, which provides users with several related applications. YouTube simply wants to reinforce its own dynamic, as it did with the integration of the stories back then.

So the user doesn’t have to deal with another app to create these short videos and then send them to YouTube. He just has to record it with his mobile camera, do some basic editing (like adding music) and that’s it. And the dynamic would be so easy for those who just want to enjoy these videos uploaded by other users. All you have to do is enter the “Shorts” section and share the videos like any other content.

Even though it seems that YouTube is late in recognizing this trend that has been raging among young users for a long time, it could be a way to refresh the audience and keep them in the app longer. For now, we’ll have to wait, as this new YouTube feature will not be available until the end of 2020.
