Along with the two Ultra phones, Xiaomi today announced the Mi TV LUX OLED Transparent Edition, the world’s first mass-produced transparent OLED TV set.
Mi TV LUX is equipped with a 55″ transparent OLED panel. It has a static contrast ratio of 150,000:1, 10-bit color, and 93% DCI-P3 coverage. The panel is supplied with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Xiaomi also claims an impressive response time of 1 ms.
Mi TV LUX OLED comes with a custom MediaTek 9650 chipset with “AI Master Smart Engine” image processing from Xiaomi, which offers more than 20 optimization and dedicated optimization algorithms for 5 main scenarios.
It also has a feature called AI Master for Audio that detects the type of content being played and automatically selects an audio mode. This includes Dolby Atmos support.
The design of this innovative television includes a 5.7 mm thick frame on a round base. It is important to point out that this TV cannot be hung on the wall for obvious reasons.
This display technology isn’t particularly new, it’s been around for some time in both OLED and LCD panels, and we even had an LG prototype that you can see here, although this will be the first time we’ll have the product in solid form. The downside of this is that the picture quality depends on the lighting in the room, such as when we put the TV in front of a window.
After all, the television will cost about $7,200 and will be on sale in China on August 16.
