Wraith Ripper, AMD and Cooler Master united for a "Mega" Ventirad RGB

AMD and Cooler Master have teamed up to design a specific fan rad for the next generation of Ryzen Threadripper, the Wraith Ripper.

AMD will upgrade its HEDT Ryzen Threadripper processor range with the launch of the Ryzen Threadripper 2. The range features a showcase. It will offer 32 physical cores and 64 logical cores. If the performances will be of the game, it will be necessary to ensure its cooling. Its thermal envelope is announced at 250 Wats. On this issue, AMD has worked with several partners including Cooler Master.

This collaboration will give birth to the Wraith Ripper. It is mega ventirad able to dissipate the heat of these Threadripper 2 and in particular of its window. It may be named Ryzen Threadripper 2990X.

The machine is equipped with addressable RGB technology. Cooler Master specifies that the design allows “total” compatibility with the high memory strips. The technical data are still to be specified but several things are known.
Several heat pipes will transport the heat to two sets of fins ensuring heat dissipation. We are in the presence of a double tower fan. In the center is housed a 120 mm fan ensuring the passage of air. The finish benefits from a dress worked on the base, top, and side.

This Wraith Ripper will be sold separately. AMD and Cooler Master do not offer more detail, in particular, the price. It is certain that the information will multiply with the approach of the launch of Ryzen Threadripper 2 planned for the third quarter of 2018.
