Another curious detail that we will find in watchOS 4 is a shortcut in the Control Center of Apple Watch that will allow us to get out of trouble by using it as a flashlight.

It is not just a simple flashlight but includes three different modes. To turn it on we will just have to access the Control Center and there we will find this new direct access. When you press it the screen will light up entirely in white, although we can still see the time in the upper right corner and 3 points in the lower part that will indicate the availability of other options. These indications will disappear in a couple of seconds leaving the screen completely blank. By pressing on the screen, we can also modify the light intensity of the screen to fit our needs better.

By sliding to the left, we will access the other available modes. The first one is a strobe light, perfect to make us more visible. That can be useful, for example, to avoid being run over by a car when walking on the shoulder of a road when it starts to get dark. As in the previous case, by pressing on the screen, we can also modify the intensity of the illumination.

Finally, the third mode illuminates the screen entirely in red, which can help us see at night without attracting much attention. Equally the intensity we can regulate it with pulsations in a display.

In short, a new feature that does not stop being a simple detail, but that can be tremendously useful in some situations. Who has not ever been in the dark? Now you will always carry an emergency flashlight on your wrist.
