Video card prices fall? Don’t worry, the RTX 4060 is looking ahead and is expected to reach the level of the RTX 3080

We have new information about the RTX 4060 graphics card, the next mid-range model in the RTX 40 series, which is expected to hit the market later this year. According to the latest information, this model is expected to outperform the current RTX 3080.

RTX 4060 outperforms the RTX 3080

New information about the RTX 40 is causing a lot of excitement about Nvidia’s next mid-range model.

According to a new source about the RTX 4060, we are told that its performance is above the RTX 3080 and on par with the RTX 3090 Ti in terms of ray-tracing performance. This is a confirmation of information that came out about this model a month ago, although at that time the ray tracing performance of the 3090 was mentioned and not the 3090 Ti, as is the case now.

The specifications known so far indicate that this model will be built on TSMC’s 5nm node and will feature the AD104 chip. 7680 CUDA cores with 192 bits width, 48 MB L2 cache, and up to 12 GB video memory are mentioned.

The RTX 40 series is expected to hit stores in September, but the RTX 4060 is not expected to be released at that time, but months later.

Pricing and availability?

The RTX 4060 will likely retain the RTX 3060’s current retail price of $329. According to sources, this model will not be available until February 2023.

Nvidia is preparing very well for the launch of the RTX 40 series so that the same thing doesn’t happen to it as it did to the RTX 30, which always had stock issues. There is talk of an investment of more than $10 billion to coordinate supply chain resources and meet demand.
