This week Twitter ends with the announcement of a new feature, which is the possibility of audio transmission.
It follows the same dynamic as the video transmissions, which provide a number of statistics, such as playback time, audience metering and other details.
This feature is considered by Twitter to be an interesting option for those cases where you don’t need to appear on video, perhaps because you simply want to express an idea or communicate more informally, or because you feel more comfortable doing so.
Some weeks ago, this new dynamic was put to the test and is now on its way to being extended to some users. Both Twitter and Periscope allow you to use this new feature. It is only necessary to select “Live” and “Audio only” to start the broadcast. A simple and practical process.
In recent weeks Twitter has conducted a series of tests, some of which have updated old features and proposed new designs and alternatives to the traditional dynamics of the platform. Many of the proposals provoked controversy among users, however, this new option seems to open up a number of possibilities.
For the moment, audio streams are only available to iOS users, and in a few weeks, it will reach Android.
