TSMC will begin mass production of its 5nm chips in the second quarter of next year and, as announced by the company, they are well on track to produce their first 3nm chips by 2022.
TSMC 3nm node advances the delivery by 2022
The company’s original plan was to start supplying the first chips manufactured using this process by 2023. However, as the pre-manufacturing and pre-construction processes are progressing faster than expected, the company has brought the delivery date forward to 2022.
In this way, the iPhone and the Huawei Mate will certainly be launched this year with chips at 3nm, as will be the case next year with the 5nm, as these two companies are typically the first to implement the new TSMC technologies.
