AI makes stunning surrealistic drawings. Artificial Intelligence is an industry that is evolving every day, and we have seen it in various products, such as smartphones, cameras and even routers like Xiaomi, as well as in various applications not only for IoT, but also in health and entertainment. Recently we told you about an app that can turn a real picture into a cartoon. Now an application is able to turn a text into surreal art.
This web application developed by Cristóbal Valenzuela is based on the premise of saying to the AI: “Draw the first thing that comes to mind”.
With a super simple website, with a split screen where we see a text field on the left side to specify a phrase or just a word for this WebApp to do the magic, or at least try it.
In the meantime, the right side is used to visualize what the AI defines from our text.
The results that it offers us are not always as expected since at the moment it is still a surrealistic artistic level.
For example, if we write “Cat”, we can see that although the result is not a cat or something similar at all, the artificial intelligence algorithm gives the drawing a coat that, if it resembles your own animal.
It is remarkable that this is not the first application of this kind, and Valenzuela’s research is based on the work of another team of scientists. This system uses an automatic learning algorithm called AttnGAN (Attentional Generative Adversarial Network), which links the terms from a database of photos, then interprets what we write and displays an image based on that particular term.
