Tesla will release an update in August to significantly improve the Autopilot

Over the past few years, we’ve been talking about Tesla’s track record, known for its electric vehicles with autopilot capabilities. Despite the name of the feature, vehicles cannot be driven 100% automatically, and the company itself emphasizes the importance of maintaining attention on the road at all times. Recently, Elon Musk himself confirmed that the next software update of the cars will bring us closer to the desired goal of 100% automatic driving.

Tesla will release an update in August to significantly improve the Autopilot

We are talking about version 9.0, an update that will include the first set of full self-driving features. The update will be one of the most important in recent years, especially considering the interest generated by Tesla’s autopilot. Of course, it is important to note that the company’s vehicles will not yet be ready to drive without any driver intervention, but thanks to this new update, the Autopilot will be much more complete than it is today.

In particular, the update will be available from August for vehicles with Autopilot version 2.0, so it will not be possible to install it on older models. Today, Tesla’s autopilot is capable of keeping the vehicle in its lane and braking and accelerating the car while the driver is still paying full attention to driving and keeping his hands on the wheel. Thanks to the next update, the Autopilot will be much more complete from August onwards.

Although we don’t know what features the August update will highlight, the company has previously announced that the improved Autopilot will be able to pick up speed on the track, automatically change lanes, move from one motorway to another and exit when it is near the destination. Many drivers are certainly looking forward to the promised Autopilot enhancements, so we’ll be keeping an eye on them until they are released with the release of the update.
