IKEA not only has furniture but also appliances such as televisions. Now they’ll also start selling Sonos Smart Speakers, like the ones Sonos has, as part of a collaboration between the two companies announced last year.

They will be called Sonos Symfonisk and, although they are models and prototypes, for now, they will be very similar to the ones they will soon be selling in the popular IKEA stores. The speakers are designed by IKEA, but the technology is totally Sonos.

The good news is that the speakers will have some of Sonos’ technology, so you can create a sound system and use applications like Spotify to play music. It is not ruled out that Bluetooth is also available for those who simply want to send audio from their mobile phones.

The latest Sonos products feature integration with Amazon Assistant Alexa and Google Assistant. Although these assistants are about to arrive in EU, it is not known whether they will also have these assistants.

The bad news? They will not have the same audio quality as Sonos computers. It should be noted that IKEA wants to sell these speakers at a more affordable price, just like its connected TVs or light bulbs.
