Recently, a new processor for the company’s high-end smartphones, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, was unveiled, which among other things promised to have a new Artificial Intelligence engine twice as powerful as its predecessor. New benchmarks have now been released, and the 865 effectively obliterates everything when the new AI engine is used.
As we can see in Anandtech, the results speak for themselves, seeing improvements in the workloads of Inference executed by AIMark3 that make the Snapdragon 865 about twice as powerful as the 855 and always ahead of the rest of alternatives like the iPhone 11 Pro.
In other tests, performance is more diverse, especially when using CPU loads based on TensorFlow without using the AI engine built into the processor. Here we see how the performance is about 60% higher with loads like “Zoo”, while e.g. with “Pioneers” the Exynos 9820 and the Huawei Mate 30 Pro are only just ahead.
However, the general trend is to always be at the top, no matter what smartphones you compare with, so we can speak of a comfortable victory in favor of the Snapdragon 865.
