Qualcomm Snapdragon 835: A Sneak Peek
As tech enthusiasts eagerly await the unveiling of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835, scheduled for CES 2017, a recent leak on Videocartz has provided a glimpse into what to expect from this highly-anticipated mobile processor.
The leaked information, presented in slides, sheds light on the Snapdragon 835’s impressive specifications. This powerhouse of a processor will feature an eight-core Kryo 280 CPU, with four cores running at a blazing 2.45 GHz for high-performance tasks. The remaining four cores are optimized for energy efficiency, clocked at 1.9 GHz. Qualcomm’s design aims to have the power-efficient cores handle approximately 80% of processing, contributing to a more energy-efficient system.
What makes the Snapdragon 835 stand out is its speed. Qualcomm claims it will be 20% faster than its predecessor, the Snapdragon 801, while consuming only half the power. With the Adreno 540 GPU, graphics performance receives a 25% boost over the Adreno 530.
Notably, the Snapdragon 835 will be the first mobile processor to support X-16 LTE, capable of data transmission rates of up to 1 Gb/s. Manufactured using 10 nm processing technology, it enables the development of thinner and more efficient devices by manufacturers.
The full details will be officially confirmed at CES 2017, taking place in Las Vegas between January 5 and 8. The Snapdragon 835 promises to be a game-changer in the world of mobile processors.
