Seagate is introducing new SSDs for its popular Barracuda storage disk series.

New Seagate Barracuda SSDs Now Available

Seagate, which is advancing by leaps and bounds in both storage density and performance of traditional hard drives with its HAMR and Multi-Actuator technologies is also investing in ultra-fast SSDs that are becoming increasingly popular. To this end, the company has announced through its blog that it has just launched and made available the new Barracuda SSDs, which will come in capacities of up to 2TB,

Barracuda solid-state drives come in 250GB, 500GB, 1TB and finally 2TB models

Like the latest SSD SATA III drives, Barracuda SSDs maximize maximum read and write speeds of up to 540 and 520 MB/s respectively. There is a five-year warranty for these SSDs, which is in line with the standards we can see from other manufacturers of this type of drive, leaving us free to bet on the longevity of this type of drive.

Seagate is selling the 250GB model for about $74.99, $119.99 for the 500GB and $229.99 for the 1TB capacity. The 2TB model will be available at a later date and its price has not been disclosed, but we could expect a number close to $500 looking at the cost of the 1TB unit.
