Samsung could be ZTE’s salvation with its Exynos processors

ZTE is at a critical juncture following the US ban on technology exports from Qualcomm, preventing the Chinese manufacturer from selling smartphones with Snapdragon chipsets there. This has been seen by Samsung as a golden opportunity to cash in on the sale of its Exynos to ZTE.

Samsung is already talking to ZTE to sell them their Exynos processors

Samsung has confirmed that it is already in discussions with ZTE to offer its Exynos processors, which are the only real alternative to the Snapdragon, as MediaTek processors do not compete in the high-end range, so they are not an option for the Chinese manufacturer. ZTE is currently trying to get the United States to lift the blockade on the use of the Snapdragon, something for which it even has the support of the country’s president, Donald Trump.

It would make sense to lift the blockade, as many US companies working closely with ZTE have been affected by this impediment to selling ZLT terminals with Qualcomm processors. ZTE could become the second manufacturer to use Samsung Exynos processors, Meizu has been using these SoCs with very good results for several years now.

Everything seems to indicate that we will have to wait a little longer to know how this story finally ends, hopefully in the best possible way for ZTE, as the brand offers high-quality terminals at very competitive prices. The more competition there is the better for users, of course, not forgetting all the families who depend on a salary from ZTE.
