Samsung invites journalists to a press event on Thursday, August 9, 2018. There the next generation of the Galaxy Note series will be presented. The Galaxy Note 9 will probably be introduced one month before Apple’s new iPhone series.
The press release invitation sent out by Samsung may concern the Galaxy Note 9 since the invitation showed a pen on the device.
Samsung usually hosts two big smartphone events a year because the Galaxy Note series and the Galaxy S9 series come onto the market at different times. For example, the Galaxy S9 was launched in February, while the Galaxy Note 8 appeared last August.
This split allows Samsung to compete better with Apple by introducing new devices before and after the launch of the new iPhone in September.
The launch of Galaxy Note 9 is expected just a month before the release of Apple’s lineup, which is said to include a second-generation 5.8-inch OLED iPhone, a larger 6.5-inch OLED iPhone and a 6.1-inch LCD iPhone.
Samsung will then present its new Galaxy S10 devices in February, provided the previous rule is not changed. Both smartphones will feature a borderless AMOLED display and a fingerprint sensor.
Rumour has it that the Galaxy Note 9 will have no notch, which could be an advantage over Apple’s design.
