Samsung confirms that a software update is now available to fix the fingerprint error on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy S10 phones.

This fingerprint error only affects Galaxy Note 10 and S10 series phones that have a silicone shield that covers the entire phone. The error is due to the fact that the texture inside the screen was used as a fingerprint to unlock the device when the customer first registered it, so anyone can unlock the device even if their fingerprint was not registered.

Samsung has sent a notification to users of Samsung Galaxy Note 10.10+, Galaxy S10 and S10+ who have registered a fingerprint. The update notification sent via the Samsung member application does not disappear until the user downloads the update.

The update notification is displayed under the name Biometric Update. After installation, Samsung recommends removing the protection screen from the phone and removing any registered fingerprints. The fingerprints that the user wants to save must then be added.

This update is already available for all of the above devices in several countries.
