Samsung presents QLED HDR Curved Gaming Monitors CHG90 and CHG70

Samsung has introduced its new advanced curved gaming monitors that promise to offer gamers with a high-quality and immersive experience. All new monitors have QLED technology and high dynamic range (HDR). That features to provide a higher color range to enjoy an unprecedented wealth of color.

At the end of 2016, Samsung introduced its new curved monitors. These are intended for gamers that included Quantum Dot image enhancement technology. Now, the Korean company goes a step further by incorporating the HDR. Which combined with the Quantum Dot technology, allows a more realistic, detailed and colorful representation of video games. By improving the quality of the image through more vivid colors and a more sharp contrast.

CHG90 and CHG70 Specifications

As far as size is concerned, the brand can not be said as so short. The CHG90 has a size of 49 inches and an ultra wide format, while the CHG70 is available in two versions: 27 and 32 inches. All of them, thanks to QLED technology, offer 125% reproduction of the sRGB spectrum and 95% of DCI-P3, as well as a brightness of 600 nits.

 

The CHG90 is designed to have a wider field of view than its competitors. It has a 32: 9 aspect ratio with a Full HD Dual Resolution (DFHD) of 3840 x 1080 pixels. The gaming display has a curvature of 1,800R and a viewing angle of 178 degrees, so it ensures a complete view without the annoying bevels and cuts of several monitors together. In addition, it has a response time of 1 ms, a refresh rate of 144 Hz and four-channel scanning technology to avoid motion blur.

For its part, the CHG70 monitors have a resolution of 1560 x 1440 pixels and in this case, their aspect ratio is the traditional 16: 9 panoramic. They can also boast an update frequency of 144 Hz and a response time of 1 ms.

AMD Radeon FreeSync 2 technology

As another novelty, the CHG90 and CHG70 are the first monitors from Samsung that include support for AMD Radeon FreeSync 2 technology. In addition without anything being specified about Nvidia G-sync. What they say here is that FreeSync 2 supports a wide spectrum of color and more brightness.

As far as the connectivity is concerned, all models have two HDMI ports, DisplayPort and Mini DisplayPort, USB 3.0, audio input and headphone output.

Samsung points out that its new curved QLED HDR gaming monitors will be available this summer. Prices in the United States will be as follows:

  • Samsung CHG90 49 inch: $ 1499.
  • Samsung CHG70 32-inch: $ 699.
  • 27-inch Samsung CHG70: $ 599.
