Samsung is preparing to launch two new generation NVMe SSDs, specifically the Samsung 970 and Samsung 980. Specifically, the two units feature the Samsung’s Polaris 2 controller and next-generation NAND 3D flash.

However, these units are OEM versions, and that’s why it has the green PCB.
Samsung already offers some of the fastest NVMe SSDs on the market, especially in the highly sought after M.2 form factor, making every step forward for the company a further step into the performance lead in many regards. Right now Samsung is the undisputed king of the SSD market, at least in terms of performance.
