The new Samsung PM883 is an SSD disk based on a 2.5-inch format. And inside it hides the company’s 64-layer N-NAND technology. Also, that which allows it to reach an 8 TB storage capacity. This memory is backed by a 16 GB LPDDR4 cache. And that has a controller owned by Samsung, to achieve the best performance and the best reliability.

In addition, Samsung has implemented the Power Disable PWDIS technology. Also, that allows you to maximize the energy efficiency of this device, intended to be used in large data centers, thanks to this technology. So, it is possible to manage the energy efficiency of each of the disks mounted in a system. This SSD has only 2.8W of power in reading and 3.7W in writing.

Also, Samsung PM883 is capable of reaching sequential read and write speeds of 550 MB/s and 520 MB/s. So that works with 4K random rates of 98,000 IOPS in reading and 28,000 IOPS in writing. The use of V-NAND memory allows offering the exceptional durability of 10,932TB of written data. There is a second variant of 4 TB. That supports the total writing of 5466 TB.

Samsung has not announced the prices.
