Samsung launches T55 series monitors with curved screen and VA panels

According to Sammobile, Samsung has recently introduced three curved T55 screens aimed at the office environment and people who want to work at home.

All products in the Samsung T55 line have a 1000R curved screen that is optimized for the human eye. All models – C24T55, C27T55, and C32T55 – feature a 75Hz screen sampling frequency and are integrated with AMD’s FreeSync technology. Some of these models also come with TÜV Rheinland’s Eye Comfort certification (a certificate showing that the display is human-friendly).

The C24T55 is the most affordable monitor in the new range. It has a curved 24-inch VA panel with Full HD resolution, 4 ms response time, 250 cd/m2 brightness and a contrast ratio of 3000:1. This monitor supports DisplayPort, D-Sub, HDMI, and audio connections. All monitors support the color standards 119% sRGB, 88% Adobe RGB and 88% DCI-P3.

The C27T55 has a 27-inch full HD VA panel, while the C32T55 uses a curved 32-inch full HD VA panel. Both monitors have a refresh rate of 75 Hz, a response time of 4 ms, a brightness of 250 cd/m2 and a contrast ratio of 3000:1, and also support AMD FreeSync, VESA Adaptive-Sync, and 5W stereo speakers.

A new and interesting alternative for users

These screens are obviously a much more modest version of what Samsung proposed for gamers at CES, but they are also striking because although they offer a more modest format and resolution, we can always combine them and, for example, have a multi-monitor desktop with two (or three) of these monitors to complete a configuration that is even more “immersive” than previous alternatives.

Combining two 1000R monitors naturally results in an interesting multi-monitor desktop.
However, those who use ultra-panoramic monitors often prefer this option and don’t want to hear that they go back and have configurations with two or more monitors. Splitting one monitor into another isn’t ideal for work or play, and the efficiency of a single panel isn’t ideal either.

So with the 1000R-curved monitors, an interesting era is dawning for those who want to give a new impetus to their work and, of course, their playing. Time will tell if the eye strain that Samsung is talking about will be alleviated by these monitors, but of course, the option is there for those who want to use it.

Samsung has not announced the price and release date of the official product line.
