Samsung Display has developed a special OLED display that is called “indestructible”. Of course, this is not the case, but it is a panel that can really take a lot. This is confirmed by tests carried out by OSHA, the US occupational health and safety authority.
Samsung Display has a new OLED screen known as “indestructible”. This is a special panel tested by OSHA specialists, the Occupational Health and Safety Administration of the US Department of Labor. Tests have shown that the screen can withstand a lot.
The panel passed very rigorous tests based on U.S. Department of Defense military standards. Including a screenshot from a height of 1.2 meters. The process was repeated 26 times. Extreme temperatures (71 degrees and -32 degrees Celsius) were also tested.
Samsung display claims that the new screens are not only used on smartphones. They are also successfully used in cars, mobile military equipment, mobile game consoles and e-learning trays. The new OLED screen is unbreakable and has an extra layer to protect it from damage.
It is not yet known when Samsung’s new OLED screens will be transferred to smartphones or other devices. It is probably not a quick one and therefore it is worth taking a look at the falling prices of mobile phones. With an increasing choice of smartphones, prices are falling and there is a good opportunity to shop.
