Samsung keeps surprising us with its monitors and has now launched the Odyssey G9, a monitor with a 32:9 aspect ratio and a QLED panel from 49″ with a resolution of 5120×1440 and a refresh rate of 240Hz and a response time of 1ms.
An additional improvement is the support of HDR1000, in other words, it has a maximum brightness of 1000 nits. Finally, the monitor also supports Freesync 2, AMD’s variable refresh rate technology, and thanks to Nvidia’s 2019 driver, it is also partially compatible with G-Sync.
Unlike other monitors, which normally have a 1800R curvature, this monitor has a 1000R curvature, which makes it much more curved and creates an immersive feeling.
Samsung hasn’t announced its price yet, but last year’s CRG9 costs U$S 1300, so this new model will probably exceed U$S 1500.
