Ryzen 5 2500X and Ryzen 3 2300X high performance cheap processors

AMD has announced four new processors from its Ryzen family. The new models consist of the Ryzen 5 2500X, Ryzen 3 2300X, Ryzen 7 2700E and Ryzen 5 2600E. The Ryzen 5 2500X and Ryzen 3 2300X are the successors of the first generation Ryzen 5 1500X and Ryzen 3 1300X. On the other hand, the Ryzen 7 2700E and Ryzen 5 2600E are the low-power versions of the Ryzen 7 2700X and Ryzen 5 2600X processors. The four new processors are based on the advanced Zen+ architecture and are manufactured using GlobalFoundries’ 12-nanometer manufacturing process.

The Ryzen 5 2500X is an eight-wire quad-core processor with a fundamental frequency of 3.6 GHz and an accelerated frequency of 4 GHz. It has 8 MB L3 cache and a 65W TDP. The processor supports two-channel DDR4 memory up to a frequency of DDR4-2933. On the other hand, the Ryzen 3 2300X has four cores and four threads. This model works with a base frequency of 3.5 GHz and an accelerated frequency of 4 GHz. Like its big brother, the Ryzen 3 2300X has 8 MB L3 cache and a 65W TDP.

The Ryzen 7 2700E and Ryzen 5 2600E are processors with a TDP of 45W and 16MB L3 cache. The Ryzen 7 2700E has eight cores and 16 threads operating at a fundamental frequency of 2.8 GHz and an accelerated frequency of 4 GHz. Finally, the Ryzen 5 2600E has six cores, 12 threads, a base frequency of 3.1 GHz and an accelerated frequency of 4 GHz. Both models come with support for 2933MHz DDR4 memory.

Unfortunately, AMD has announced that the new Ryzen Ryzen 5 2500X, Ryzen 3 2300X, Ryzen 7 2700E and Ryzen 5 2600E processors will currently only be available in OEM systems.
