RX 6700 XT, custom models would have 2.95 GHz clocks

The AMD RX 6700 XT has not yet been announced, but we are starting to know more details about this model. From Igor’s Lab we get information about the clocks this graphics card can get.

The Radeon RX 6700 XT has a boost frequency of 2.854 MHz, as we can see with the MorePowerTool, but the source also used a “custom” BIOS that allows the graphics card to reach speeds of 2950 MHz or 2.95 GHz.

The next AMD release will focus on the top-of-the-line RX 6900 XT, which will be available on December 18th. This graphics card will compete with the RTX 3090 from Nvidia, but we still need to know what AMD’s orientation will be for the mid and high end of the range. The RX 6700 XT is the answer to this question, but we still need to know which models will be positioned underneath.

It seems that RDNA 2 can allow very high frequencies, as we have seen with the RX 6900 XT and its ability to reach a clock frequency of 3.0 GHz.

Interestingly, this would put the RX 6700XT with an overclocking option above the RX 6800 XT, which reaches a maximum of 2.8 GHz.

Finally, Igor’s Lab shows that the graphics card has a 211W TGP, also a model with a 186W TGP. Therefore the TGP value at the frequencies of 2.95 GHz could be around 250W.

At the moment we do not know when this AMD graphics card might be announced. We will keep you up to date.
